yeah thanks i will tell them everyone from i4memory.com sent me,tekcorp sounds like a good shop. Yeah i decided to put the ram on hold and have been working things out,i think i would be better of waiting till after xmas before i buy the cpu,ram and motherboard,i have bought all the other parts to build my new system except those 3,but i figure that it would be good to wait around a few more months and see what new motherboards get released and hopefully ram will go down by then to,i am also hoping that when that new 4 core intel cpu comes out, then the 6800 extreme conroe might come down to E6700 sought of prices. |

Lucky you asked here before buying as i did a search on corsair help forums for this memory and it doesn't perform well at all on Intel platform as Corsair only validated it for AM2 board http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=54052 |

Phew lucky! Imagine shelling out for the stupidly high price of these modules only to find out that they run like crap in ur killer Intel rig. I would be going postal! Very piss poor Corsair. |

Did anyone here bother to actually try the 8888's on an Intel board? http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/OCZ_Cors/index.php Stuart over at DriverHeaven ran them up to 1146MHz at 4-4-12. It doesn't look like he ever did try to top them out at the same timings as the OCZ modules were run at (5-6-6), nor did he try to run the OCZ modules at the same timings as the Corsair (4-4-4) to see how fast they would go by comparison so this isn't a true apples to apples review. It does prove that the Corsair modules run just fine on newer Intel based boards though and I'd imagine their 8500's run fine too as they're built with the same Micron part. |
