Cellshock PC2-8000 CAS5+P5B Deluxe = low clocks?

I ordered a kit of the CellShock CS2221450 (1000MHz 5-5-5-12) but don't seem to be having much luck clocking them very high with the default timings, at least not on my P5B-Deluxe. I unfortunately have a 1.03G version with the C1 chipset stepping, so I get the PCI-E x1 bug if I up the VMCH over 1.45V. My goal would be 600MHz+ if at all possible. I was able to get the sticks to clock to 600MHz CAS5 on my Striker Extreme, so I know they can do it. I'm running an E6300 on the P5B with a Tuniq Tower+SilverStone FM121 for CPU cooling. I've seen some of eva2000's crazy clocks on the P5B even using an unmodded board without the DDR2 Maximizer, so the board should have it in it...

hey there welcome
what bios you using and memory divider ? 2:3 is best and you definitely need VMCH/NB >1.55-1.65v to achieve it.
For PCI-E x1 bug, try booting at different FSB and checking the PCI-E Bus link bandwidth in cpuz/gpuz. On certain bioses it may be fixed but on buggy ones, that's what I found works
i.e. for me booting on Commando at 501FSB fixed x16 PCI-E but at 500FSB x1 PCI-E. Need to find an FSB that lets you fix PCI-E at x16.

I'll have to check the BIOS when I get home. I was running the CPU at 400x7 so 600MHz for the RAm would be 2:3. The odd thing is my Ballistix 8500 (double-sided) work fine at the same settings. Perhaps the board doesn't like D9GKX?
I also have a pair of the Geil DDR2-1160 CAS4 sticks, but I don't think I'll be getting much out of them with only 2.45VDIMM available.

The BIOS is 1232. I tried a few different FSB levels with VMCH > 1.45, each time the PCI-E link was dropped to x1. I also tend to get the beep code 1 long 3 short when I set it that high.

To find the fsb that works, you would need to power down/psu off to reset the x1 PCI-E lock once you experience it otherwise it will be always locked.

I decided to try my Maximus Formula w/Rampage BIOS instead. I still wasn't able to get any high CAS4 clocks to pass MemTest, but I think I may need to tweak the subtimings a bit as I got pretty close with the Geil kit, only a few failures in test #5. Not sure if I need to loosen or tighten them though.

An update, I haven't had much success with the P5B and the CellShock at all, but my Striker Extreme seems to like them; I can get them to DDR2-1200 CAS5 with 2.3V BIOS set. They can do that on the Maximus as well.

2.3v for 1200 CAS 5? That's certainly a lot of voltage for only 1200 MHz. My Team's do that on 2.12v Real, and a lot of kits do it under 2.1v real.
Make sure the board isn't over/under volting them, using a dmm to check is a good idea.
Perhaps try loosening the tRFC to about 40 - 55 to see if that helps stabilize them.
