The o/c headroom on this L626 E6600 is at its peak with my Gigabyte 3D rocket pro cooler. In one of the file decomp/encrypt tests, can't remember which one exactly. The Cpu temp reached 81C ! at this level of 8 x 466Mhz FSB. Weird, because in the full cpu test suite, there is a test where 4 threads are running simultaneously & the temps never went over 76C. But I reckon pretty good for a $60 cpu cooler purchased over a year ago. Also, played with the DDR2 timings and tightened them a little more @ 466Mhz. I believe these sticks can do more but are limited by the cpu cooling situation. I only like running @ 1:1 I am glad my Thermalright ultra 120 and a nice 3 speed 12cm fan are ready for me to pick up tommorrow. along with the 8cm case fan on my CM stacker case which can blow out hot air from the roof of it, I will be able to finally get that connected properly with the extra 3 pin extension cable I'll pick up tommoz as well. But I may not be installing all of these bits straight away, because of a MAJOR system rebuild before XMAS and off topic - the sale of my house interfering with PC hardware builds atm. The highest end DDR2 available in OZ will be a feature of this next build along with a new CPU... So here is the best this CPU & DDR2 can do with full PCMark05 test suite. Personally I believe this to be a better and more realistic assesment of real world computing performance than what SuperPi can demonstrate. The final score would be much higher if not for the 2004 model X800 XT vga being quite uncompetitive with todays vga market. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=544986 |

| Re: 2Gb OCZ Platinum XTC PC8000 By eva2000 Well, so far this cpu won't go past 472Mhz FSB, no matter what lower multiplyer you use. At 466Mhz FSB its running fine with 1.55v on NB, jumping the NB v to 1.65 does'nt make any difference once you get around 470Mhz or higher. Even rasing FSB v makes no difference, contrary to what some forum members think about being easy to run 500mhz FSB on this board... Some cpus just WON'T go further... no matter what.
Other users on XS.org etc.. report similar results too... |

only other P965 chipset mobo I used is Giga DQ6, which was a dissapointing overclocker and had a weird restart bug.. this was with F4 bios
