I guess the other psus have more than one +12v rail that get's overloaded in 7900GTX/512MB 7800GTX SLI configurations as shown from [discuss] SLI and CrossFire Push Power Supplies to the Limit @Extremetech.com But work around from [discuss] SLI and CrossFire Push Power Supplies to the Limit @Extremetech.com would be to use a PCI-E to 2x molex adaptor for the 2nd SLI card instead of the psu PCI-E power cable |

Interesting info from Silverstone regarding 650W older revision vs 650W newer psu they have about rail distributions http://www.silverstone-usa.com/QA-POWER.htm The original version of ST65ZF is capable powering a fully loaded SLI/CrossFire system equipped with either 7800GTX 256MB or X850XT 256MB. This version of power supply can be identified by the surface coating, which have “shinny” galvanized coating. vs Newly revised ST65ZF(released in summer 2005)and all ST60F are capable of supporting fully loaded SLI/CrossFire systems running 7800GTX 512MB or X1900XTX cards if 4pin to 6pin PCI-E adapter is used on one of the cards. These can be easily identified from the original ST65ZF by its surface coating, they have a flat, black paint finish as opposed to galvanized coating. |

| By eva2000 That really sucks!!! I hardly have any spare molex connectors how the hell can I free two of them to connect it to a PCI-E connector.
It appears Zippy, Sliverstone 750W??? and 1.1Kw are the ideal PSU for full load high-end system??? Cheers None of those link work Eva. |

Thanks for updating the linky. I have some problem interpreting those illustrations. On their old PSU, how can 12V3 rail run two 7800GTX 256Meg with only 16A to spare??? let alone overclocking.... And on their new PSU, how can it limit the requirement when theres 18A available on +12V4. G70 would only take 8 A or so. |

So now that i'm inline for a step-up to 7900gtx's i should probably consider a new psu? I am running the Enermax Noisetaker 600 watts . I dont know what it has for amps on the rails to be honest. I think the label says 18 im not sure. But if thats right i really need one bad.
