Ok so i thought i boot up my Maintenance partition and Ghost over a image file back to the raptors.... Ghost error about bad sector, sector # bla bla bla will low level formatt fix the drive or once you start seeing these errors the drives usually Gone ?? i have setup atm on 2 raptors Raid0 for now . yes i have thought about 4x $100 drives would still make good raid setup but you would still suffer in seektimes... and this is what makes my Pc so much better /Faster/ Nippy/Quick/Awsum/unbeleivable/to use than any other pc in this house I have 2 x160 Gb drives in my wifes Pc in Raid0 and it performs like a dog. actually it's no better than my daughters or sons Pc with single drives.. You cant really beat a fast drive i know there expensive but so is everrything else in the Case.. My brother inlaw just built 2 identicle Pc's with p5k-e motherboards and Q6600 G0 cpu's...2 nights ago his Mrs used 1 of these Pc's and said to John that this Pc dosnt seem to be verry quick around the desktop compared to the other...John replied thats because its not running the Raptors like this Pc, it Just has a single Seagate drive in the system.. I must admit, I can definitely tell the difference between using a normal 7200 RPM drive and a Raptor, and this is without RAID. I always use Raptors as system drives, both home and work. |

i find Raid hopless in a Ghost !!!! slow slow slow...compared to sata to sata 2600Mb/pm..raid your lucky to ghost at 1500 Mb/Pm... Raid is verry Fast for dumping big files around the Pc ..Raid is also much Faster in loading big map Games like Doom3..Raid is so much better to many Pros to go against using it...But im sure there are lots people who would disagree.. |
