congrats george doing over 4500mhz on cpu not easy with multigpu's in 3d06 on normal cooling, after many many hours i did a 4583 run with my 3 4890's , but the heat at that speed throttled my cpu score a bit, its weird these i7 have the same characteristics as the core 2 duos, where there is low voltage higher temps chips, and higher voltage lower temp chips , why is there never low volt low temp chips, , i have chispys old xeon w3540 and mine is high v core low temp chip

Nice going on the 3d run Eva, best I could get that cpu to on a 3d run was 4577mhz and managed a 4.6ghz in vantage on h20. How's the temps at those volts I think the most I could take it was around 1.493v before it got too hot to bench.

thanks.... yeah seems to be the limit of i7 on water around 4500-4600mhz HT enabled. I do wonder if it's really just heat or something else that limits them to that frequency with HT enabled on H20.

Yeah it does get hotter - this W3540 at >1.4v gets around 10C hotter than my W3520 at >1.5v. 4550Mhz HT 1.472v load is around 80-88C with around 40-45C idle on cool day or 45-50C idle on a warm ambient day.

thanks

I haven't used turbo multi yet as I want to find the max of the cpu in terms of mhz and bclk on 22x first before trying 23x multi
