In regards to TAT app

I have been working with Legal on a Cease and Desists for some websites that have it posted. It is Intel Confidential and meant for Customers only with NDA. Some customer has leaked this out. If used incorrectly there could be potential damage to the processor.There are no planned updates for the public.
Off the record TAT punishes CPU's and is actually blowing them up, so Intel really doesn't want enthusiasts using it. If any of our readers are using it I don't advise using it for long periods of time (anything over 30mins is long).
would explain my higher temps and power draw with TAT than dual stressprime orthos with my testing at E6600 Power consumption tests - Power-Mate meter and Intel Thermal Analysis Tool - TAT

I assume they mean TAT's own internal cpu load tests and not the monitoring function ?

It's surprising actually I always thought that if the cpu is stable and cooled well enough there wouldn't be a problem. However, it has to be said that the load temps produced by TAT and even Orthos for that matter are well above those you would normally get with the vast majority of programs running at 100%.

I must admit that until I saw your PSU/Wattage review I didn't even realise that TAT could be used as stability test... I just thought it was a temp monitoring utility

Im guessing that the CPU's arent actually designed to be mega loaded as much as they can take for extended periods of time (like driving your car flat chat at redline for hours).

i reckon Intel is just putting out a little put-off warning so that no company looks at the software more seriously and tries to disect and use in newer editions because of strong enthusiast demand
