Interesting findings from P5W DH FSB wall testing http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=111400

seems these findings apply to Intel D975XBX bad axe as well, loosened tRFC/tRD from 35/6 to 40/7 and increased my max 32M benchable fsb from 433fsb to 440fsb!

Maybe all motherboard manufacturers need to do is open their bioses to the other memory timing options that memset has available so we can further fine tune how high the fsb can go ?

Exactly what I said two weeks ago but I would not hold my breath waiting for the extra options to be enabled

well if any motherboard manufacturer would be capable of doing it, it would be Intel themselves

great guide Eva

i've just started playing with a bad axe rev 304 and this thread has been quite useful

my only problems at the moment it seems, are:

1) EIST doesn't work properly (enabled/disabled the CPU speed stays the same but the VCore drops when idle) so i have to do the CrystalCPUID thing at every reboot (which is quite often at the moment)

2) the lack of a BIOS CPU multiplier option to drop the multi

3) the VCore setting in the BIOS seems to have no effect on the actual VCore

i can prime up to approx 3300mhz on stock volts (1.30), but when trying any higher, even when i set 1.4V in the BIOS it fails prime in a few seconds, checking the value with the Intel Desktop Utilities shows the VCore at 1.28V

any more tips or advice from anybody would be greatly appreciated

[edit] after flashing to 1304 and re-doing the oc debug mod vcore is now working

1. EIST in windows poses no probs enabled so disabling really has no purpose
2. Yeah need to use Crystalmarkcpuid for that
3. Did you do the shorting of oc debug jumper Intel D975XBX Bad Axe bios unlocked (OC Debug jumper) (edit of read your edit heh)

As to priming, you tried upping fsb and/or MCH volts ?

I just installed my E6700 QPGA on my Bad Axe so will see

oops, i forgot about this thread
looking forward to your results eva

i haven't really had much time to play, but at the moment i'm running the 1334 BIOS with Vcore at 1.4125V for 3600MHz (266+35%)
CoreTemp is showing 58-59C while Orthos is running (small FFTs priority 9)

[edit] needs 1.425 for complete stability :s
