Yeah bad axe is rock solid and if you're not overclocking it would be a fine board indeed. A few things to read up and learn about it but you have i4memory and me to post questions on this board

any plans of modding the board eva? the xtreme guys make it look easy enough but as usual warranty still means something to most of us

Re: Semi Official Intel 975XBX Badaxe motherboard info

Hi George...well as you know I now have the same board (rev 304) with the 1334 BIOS courtesy of U-Mart and the E6400 cpu and 2 Gb Corsair DDR2 Twin2X 2048MB 240-pin DDR2 XMS2-6400 Ram.

Now this whole Intel BIOS thing is new to me and was wondering if you could shed some lilght on which BIOS settings are most important for a good runing system.

How do I know if the mobo is recognising my 7950 as 2 cards?

What settings do I need in the BIOS?

Sorry for the noob questions but this is my first Intel for ages.

Example...BIOS shows memory running at 667MHZ should it be 800Mhz?

VIDEO SETTING..is set to Auto..should it be PCI-E (PEG)??

Re: Semi Official Intel 975XBX Badaxe motherboard info

Anthony 3rd link in 1st post at http://i4memory.com/f55/semi-official-intel-975xbx-badaxe-motherboard-info-2804-post43399/#post43399 pointing to http://www.ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=1713 has some of the bios settings explained. You won't have some of those bios options like vcore for retail cpus unless you short the oc debug jumper.

But for stock running you don't need to have it anyway. Not sure how to confirm 7950GX2 is working other than by benching the card in 3dmarks and games.

533 = 1:1 memory so at 266fsb default = 266mhz memory
667 = 4:5 memory so at 266fsb default = 333mhz memory
800 = 2:3 memory but not sure if it works properly as i haven't actually tried it.

The burn in host % you can see how to enable it at http://www.ocxtreme.org/forumenus/showthread.php?t=1713 if you set it at 25% positive burn in = 266fsb + 25% = 333fsb with 667 divider = 400mhz memory for 8x333fsb = 2666mhz clock which should be very easy for the cpu, board and ram - basically a E6700 hehe

Video leave at AUTO should be fine

edit: actually i'm trying out 266fsb default with 2:3 (800) divider right now memtest, seems to work so far but will see how long memtest goes for heh

LOL... you pay for the air fare to NZ

It's fairly easy once you get the hang of it for oc'ing you only have 3 sections in bios you really need to touch after initial setup

1. vcore, mch (northbridge volts) and fsb volts
2. mem frequency, timings and vdimm
3. boot priority order (if you use raid etc)

Ya know Eva, Freedom AIr has some realy cheap airfares over to here, you gotta pack a cutlunch tho

Mem frequency and timings is always where I trip up. If i buy some Corsair 667 or Adata 800 will I generally be ok?
