So we and our elaborately evolving computers may meet each other halfway. Someday a human being, named perhaps Fred White, may shoot a robot named Pete Something-or-other, which has come out of a General Electric factory, and to his surprise see it weep and bleed. And the dying robot may shoot back and, to its surprise, see a wisp of gray smoke arise from the electric pump that it supposed was Mr. White's beating heart. It would be rather a great moment of truth for both of them.

as discussed with dino last night the ROMP configurations have a huge impact on system bandwidth,

when using some configurations system bandwidth can drop to as low as 3600/mbs while others are 6500/mbs,

ive been playing with booting at 3600/mbs and boosting bandwidth with pmem and so far im up to about 5200/mbs, still a long way to go, but if i can squeeze to mayeb 5500/mbs it'l probably be a nice platform for pi considering the extra cpu mhz i can get with the higher fsb...

james what sort of FSB can you get with "proper" bandwidth

about 640 for 1m stability with nb at 1.39v and nb on air

itll be all about pmem from here, if i can mimick most of the configuration of the higher bandwidth registers i should be able to boost my bandwidth very close to full bandwidth while maintaining msot of my fsb...

i don't know how you get that bandwidth for high FSB
my mobo doesn't do that

just a few updates for you, yes i like the efficiency on this board,

there has been alot of talk of the SLOW ram performance from ROMP profiles and this CAN be true, but if you tweak values properly you can get both good fsb and good performance, trd can stay low while maintaing high fsb and bandwidth,

my runs are using ROMP profile 2,
auto ram timings,
(new bios with independent control for nb/fsb) 1.406vfsb and 1.56vnb,
on air using tuniq tower and nb on air

yes this board can also reach his fsb in dual channel, with air on nb and cpu

32m looks nice, reasonable efficiency here, max fsb on air, i suspect 620-623~mhz fsb benchable on ln2,

8m easy fsb clocks

1m can do with some pp improvement but is okay for now, mchbar improvements to be had here

The little biostar tpower does it again!

My e8500 isnt so good with raw mhz, but this is a good effort by a e8400!
