| BFG + E6600
Guys, appreactiate all the great threads on these forums, there is alot of great info here. Just got my first intel CPU since my Celeron 300A which overclocked 50% on its first boot also. I did the same with my E6600 CPU, overclocked it to 3600Mhz on my first look at the bios. Stole a few tips from the 6600/Striker thread which really helped. Was hoping some i4memory guys could give me a few tips and explanations. Thanks in advance. System Specs. Hi and Welcome ![]() Nice rig. With 1.55vcore you should be able to keep pushing the FSB up to 420. Give it a go then tweak the rest later. RAM timings of 5-5-5-15 are good while experimenting with the CPU |

Nice, 56C max temps for 3.6Ghz Have you tried less vcore? Maybe try 1.5vcore in BIOS? ![]() Seems like a lot of SPP voltage for 400FSB but with only 56C max load temps you can push that a heck of a lot further. If your keen, maybe try leaving the setting as they are and bump FSB up to 440Mhz (1760 QDR). You might need some additional vcore cause that's around the 4Ghz mark but you might not .Be careful of your SPP temps. I see you've got the fan installed |

Great advice, but I seem to have trouble getting this board past 420 FSB, thats when I have the multi at 6. I did read the other thread the he also had trouble (maxed out at 395) but figured out settings to get to 470 FSB. What were the tweaks that made the diff ? And what are the deadspots (holes)? What would you guys say a safe v-core is for 24/7 And what voltages would you recomend for say 3.8Ghz Cheers guys, fantastic info in these forums, great reviews and great people. |

![]() The tweaks for getting high FSB were increasing the SPP voltage and the HT (SPP - MCP). Try increasing those and see how you go. Also, try running the RAM in "linked" mode with 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. If that doesn't do it maybe try bumping up the vFSB to 1.3v and the vMCP to around 1.6v. One thing to note is that the board is rather fussy with voltages, sometimes more voltage will make it unstable. Keep that in mind when testing. I managed a benchmark stable 470Mhz FSB with a VapoLS which may have increased the possible FSB. I used 1.55v SPP and 1.55v HT (SPP - MCP) and it would crash after around 10 minutes probably due to overheating on the SPP. As to what voltages are safe, it's not easy to say.
