did a search on statice which returns a whole lot of 'unnamed' Foxconn X38 boards, but Im not sure if theyre the X48 BlackOps or not?

Theres a few ES and Retail units getting around on XS but nothing from Aus yet

saw that thread myself gaidin, did a bit of digging aroubd & endrd up with this, Foxconn Blackops X48 Be interesting to see. The launch date might be sooner perhaps than Abit or DFI , as i would expect Foxconn to be classed as a tier 1 supplier & so have access to x48 chips earlier, not sure.

Certainly Foxconn's arrival can only be good news , more choice & competition.

X48 chipsets are in short supply so no idea when manufacturers will have them

Are they in short supply ie physically unavailable or is it part of this scenario X48 delayed, thanks to Asus. That effects all manufacturers, so so the whole x48 launch slides back as you say. Whenever the launch there is the fact that Foxconn may beat Abit & DFI to market by being classed as a Tier 1 manufacturer ??

Yeah could be X48 shortage due to Intel holding back stock to manufacturers.. but regardless just means manufacturers' hands are tied as they have no X48 inventory to access

Not sure about Foxconn beat the others to the access of the X48. I'm sure they'll be available very quickly from most manufacturers

It's funny we spend that much time waiting, reckon we should haver some online sweeps for getting the launch date right

Yeah throughout the pc distribution channel right to the customer, seems everyone plays the waiting game heh.

I hope those university researchers perfect that star trek like transporter beam technology so we can have almost instant product delivery
