| Rampage II Extreme + W3520 not stable over 4GHz
Hi together, I hope someone can help me out. I am using a W3520 since a few days and can't get it stable past 4 GHz. I already tried 1.45 VCore but I think something else is wrong. This is my BIOS template: CPU Level Up: Memory Level Up: Ai Overclock Tuner: OC From CPU Level Up: OC From Memory Level Up: CPU Ratio Setting: 21 BCLK Frequency: 195 PCIE Frequency: 105 DRAM Frequency: 19XX UCLK Frequency: 38XX QPI Frequency: AUTO EPU II Phase Control: FULL Loadline Calibration: ENABLED CPU Differential Amplitude: AUTO Extreme OV: CPU Voltage: 1.325 CPU PLL Voltage: AUTO QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.475 IOH Voltage: 1.25 IOH PCIE Voltage: AUTO ICH Voltage: AUTO ICH PCIE Voltage: AUTO DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.65 Debug Mode: Keyboard TweakIt Control: CPU Spread Spectrum: AUTO PCIE Spread Spectrum: AUTO CPU Clock Skew: AUTO IOH Clock Skew: AUTO CPU-Configuration CPU Ratio Setting: AUTO C1E Support: ENABLED Hardware Prefetcher: ENABLED Adjacent Cache Line Prefetch: ENABLED Intel(R) Virtualization Tech: ENABLED CPU TM Function: ENABLED Execute Disable Bit: ENABLED Intel(R) HT Technology: ENABLED Active Processor Cores: ALL A20M: DISABLED Intel(R) C-STATE Tech: ENABLED -C State package limit setting: AUTO DRAM Timing Control DRAM CAS# Latency: 9 DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 9 DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 9 DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 24 DRAM RAS# to RAS# Delay: DRAM REF Cycle Time: DRAM WRITE Recovery Time: DRAM READ to PRE Time: DRAM FOUR ACT WIN Time: DRAM WRITE to READ Delay: DRAM Timing Mode: 2N DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHA: DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHB: DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHC: DRAM WRITE to READ Delay(DD): DRAM WRITE to READ Delay(DR): DRAM WRITE to READ Delay(SR): DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(DD): DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(DR): DRAM READ to WRITE Delay(SR): DRAM READ to READ Delay(DD): DRAM READ to READ Delay(DR): DRAM READ to READ Delay(SR): DRAM WRITE to WRITE Delay(DD): DRAM WRITE to WRITE Delay(DR): DRAM WRITE to WRITE Delay(SR): DRAM REF Voltage DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHA/B/C: DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHA/B/C: Would be great if someone could give me some useful hints. Thanks for your prompt reply. You are great. Will post the batch no. later, as I am at work right now. System looks as follow: Rampage II Extreme (Bios 1406 - already tried to 1639 but 1406 is the best so far) RAM: 3x2 GB G.Skill Trident DDR2000 HDD: 4 x Sinpoint F1 1TB - 3@Raid0 VGA: 2 x 4890TOP ASUS DESIGN CF (not overclocked) Thanks |

This may not work in your situation, but, Firstly disable full phase control(had nothing but issues with my rampage with it on) Secondly, don't use any auto voltage settings, set everything manually. Set everything to stock volts except for CPU v core , use 1.65 v for ram as you are now. With i7 voltages, less is more. If that runs fine at 4Ghz, then push further, but only increase cpu v core voltage. Also set uncore frequency to exactly double your ram freq for better stability. Also try and disable c1E support in CPU config settings. Good luck, and let us now how it goes |

Maybe my board just doesn't like overclocking.
