| P5B Deluxe + Geil 6400 Ultra
I just purchased a P5B Deluxe and some Geil Ultra 2Gb 4-4-4-12 RAM. I've clocked my E6600 to 8 x 400MHz to start off with (9 x 400 is a bit warm) and have a question regarding a Post message. Initial Post shows my ram is PC2-4300, even though I've specified in the BIOS to run at PC-6400 - 800MHz. CPUz also shows my RAM as running at 400Mhz. Is this normal or a bug in the P5B BIOS? I'm running the latest version (08.. something) |

in windows load up cpuz's spd tab and see what SPD the ram is set to.. SPD is just a JEDEC rating and nothing to do with actual performance.. maybe P5B DX startup is reading the ram's SPD.. i just got my P5B DX but screen goes by too fast for me to notice the text heh i.e. my OCZ PC8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 are SPD at PC6400 |

| Re: P5B Deluxe + Geil 6400 Ultra By BLeR If its showing PC2-4300 at startup in bios that means your running the ram @ 1:1 or the lowest divider available, when I choose to run at 4:5 for example, no matter what FSB frequency it will always show PC2-5300. Its nothing to worry about, its just the way Asus have configured the bios splash screen.
What matters is the reading you get from CPUZ which should be the same as the setting you entered in bios for Manual overclocking profile. |

![]() How warm is it? Open this program: Core Temp and see what the temps are when running after 10mins of the "small FFT" test of this program: Orthos stress prime |
