Hello, I need help since I don't manage to have a 100 % stable system. With the 1101 bios, I did the following tests : - max fRAM found : 960 Mhz - 3DMark05 CPU tests stable at 975 Mhz 4-4-4-8, whatever the divider, VRAM=2.14 V, NBstrap=333. - Orthos RAM priortiy 10 stable at 960 Mhz (I did not test higher) 4-4-4-8, VRAM=2.18 V, NBstrap=333. I stopped Orthos after 1 h 16 min. - max FSB found : 534 Mhz - 3DMark05 CPU tests stable at 475x9/8=534 Mhz (CPU multiplier=8). 534 Mhz confirmed by Sisoft Sandra. VNB= 1.33 V. Divider 1:1. - max fCPU : - Orthos CPU & RAM priority 10 stable at 4166=9x463 Mhz, divider 1:1. VCPU=1.5 V, VFSB=1.4 V, VNB=1.35 V, VRAM=2.12 V, VPLL=1.54 V, every other voltage on auto. I stopped Orthos after 7 h 37 min. I believed that 4166 was my 100 % stable frequency but I encountered crashes with games. The graphic card was not overclocked. So I decreased the frequency to 4158 Mhz=462x9 and Orthos CPU & RAM crashed after 3 h 28 s ! Consequently, today, I was really fed up with my PC and at 4275 Mhz=475x9, I tested Orthos CPU & RAM with the following voltages : VFSB=1.52 V, VNB=1.59 V, VRAM=2.18 V, VSB=1.15 V, VPLL=1.64 V and crash after 12 min. I am fed up with this motherboard. Would you have an idea why I don't manage to be stable ? Thanks. |

hey welcome passionne ![]() what's your bios settings used Asus Blitz Formula Bios Template ? might want to read http://i4memory.com/f54/announcement-overclocking-methodology-eva2000.html as well as E6850 L723A347 + Asus Blitz Formula 1101 bios For 4x1GB you might need higher NB and vdimm voltage Try with 2x1GB first |

What max safe voltages do you recommend for NB and RAM ? NB is watercooled (water at 20°C) and RAM is cooled by 2 80 mm fans. I keep you informed. |

try raising North Bridge Voltage to 1.55v to 1.65v and DRAM voltage to 2.2-2.30v the higher voltages particularly for 4x1GB.. you can probably drop FSB termination voltage to 1.3-1.35v 24/7 i'd recommend NB 1.55-1.6v and vdimm under 2.25v vdimm |

| Re: Impossible to attain a stable overclock : E6850+Blitz Formula+Mach II GT By eva2000 I ran Orthos CPU & RAM priority 10 this night by following your advice and Orthos crashed after 9 h 13 min.
Here are the parameters : CPU Voltage: 1.5 V CPU Voltage Reference: AUTO Loadline Calibratiom: Enabled FSB Termination Voltage: 1.38 North Bridge Voltage: 1.55 North Bridge Reference: AUTO DRAM Voltage: 2.2 v -DDRII Channel A Ref Voltage: AUTO -DDRII Channel B Ref Voltage: AUTO -DDRII Controller Ref Voltage: AUTO South Bridge Voltage: AUTO PLL Voltage: 1.54 V I will test tonight with VFSB=1.34 V and VPLL=1.5 V. Indeed, accordinf to your link, E6850 L723A347 + Asus Blitz Formula 1101 bios, you adjusted VPLL at 1.5 V. Today, I will play games too in order to see if I still encounter crashes. I keep you informed. |
