I'm a little disappointed with the way new BIOS 0013 "improves memory OC"... ![]() I still have to learn if loose latencies would improve overclokcing with 0006b too, or there are changes in 0013 that really do the thing? BIOS 0006b - RAM@default - 2400MHz 9-11-9-27-2T everything else on Auto | BIOS 0013 - RAM@default - 2400MHz 9-11-9-27-2T everything else on Auto |

Good stuff. I finally hopped on the SB-E bandwagon (P9X79 WS + 3820) but haven't attempted any overclocking as of yet. All I have to work with it besides Elpida Hyper kits are my Vengeance 4GB sticks (32GB total) which use Elpida chips that don't clock well from what I've read.

| RAM Latency on Asus Rampage 4 Extreme
Hi all I have the Asus Rampage 4 Extreme motherboard and G.Skill Sniper 1866 RAM and I would like to use my RAM to the fullest so I would like to change the Memory Frequency to 1866 and then change the timing to its appropriated CL9-10-9-28 as that is what I need to change and possibly the voltage to 1.5v. Is this the right this to do or what must I do to be able to use my RAM/Memory at its appropriate 1866 ???? Please help !!! Thanks !

I'm still trying to get a feel for the X79 platform. I finally found one of my kits that could do DDR3-2400 HyperPi 32M stable on my RIVE and 3930k combo, then I started tweaking the voltages and running SuperPi 32M to verify stability. I was able to lower CPUVTT a bit from 1.20v to 1.15v and VCCSA from 1.20 to 1.05v and still pass HyperPi 32M. I'm not sure if this is just okay or a good IMC I have here. |
