You can try these settings, although I'm not an expert for 980X, so you need to try different voltages for CPU and QPI/DRAM. I'm using 1.3125V for CPU @ 4200MHz (now dropped to 1.3V with new BIOS), so I think you should be fine with it, cause 980X should need less then older i7 and even Xeons. About QPI/DRAM: I need 1.425V for stable memory @ 2000MHz / UnCore @ 4000MHz, but I'm hoping you need much less with 980X. Don't use XMP profiles, as they tend to overvolt everything. Your CPU was at over 1.4V for 3444MHz ![]() Note that you will need to switch on-board jumper (picture) to turn QPI_LLC Enabled Code: Target CPU Frequency 4200MHz Target DRAM Frequency 2003MHz LN2 Mode: Disabled*** QPI Loadline Calibration: Enabled*** Sync Mode [Enabled] AI Overclock Tuner [Manual] OC From CPU level Up [Auto] CPU Ratio Setting [21.0] CPU Turbo Power Limit [Disabled] >CPU Configuration---------------------------- CPU Ratio Setting [21.0] C1E Support [Enabled] Hardware Prefetcher [Enabled] Adjacent Cache Line Prefetcher [Enabled] Intel(R) Virtualiyation Tech [Enabled] CPU TM Function [Disabled] Execute Disable Bit [Enabled] Intel(R) HT Technology [Enabled] Active Processor Cores [All] A20M [Disabled] Intel(R) SpeedStep(TM) Tech [Enabled] Intel(R) C-STATE Tech [Enabled] C State package limit setting [Auto] ---------------------------------------------- BCLK Frequency [200] PCIE Frequency [100] DRAM Frequency [2000] UCLK Frequency [4000] QPI Link Data Rate [3600] Memory Configuration Protect [Disabled] >DRAM Timing Control-------------------------- CAS# Latency 8 [8] RAS# to CAS# Delay 8 [8] RAS# PRE Time 8 [8] RAS# ACT Time 24 [24] RAS# to RAS# Delay 6 [Auto] REF Cycle Time 98 [Auto] WRITE Recovery Time 15 [Auto] READ to PRE Time 9 [Auto] FOUR ACT WIN Time 24 [Auto] Back-To-BackCAS# Delay 0 [Auto] Timing Mode 1N [1N] Round Trip Latency on CHA 63 [Auto] Round Trip Latency on CHB 65 [Auto] Round Trip Latency on CHC 66 [Auto] WRITE To READ Delay(DD) 8 [Auto] WRITE To READ Delay(DR) 8 [Auto] WRITE To READ Delay(SR) 18 [Auto] READ To WRITE Delay(DD) 7 [Auto] READ To WRITE Delay(DR) 7 [Auto] READ To WRITE Delay(SR) 7 [Auto] READ To READ Delay(DD) 7 [Auto] READ To READ Delay(DR) 6 [Auto] READ To READ Delay(SR) 4 [Auto] WRITE To WRITE Delay(DD) 8 [Auto] WRITE To WRITE Delay(DR) 8 [Auto] WRITE To WRITE Delay(SR) 18 [Auto] ---------------------------------------------- CPU Differential Amplitude [Auto] CPU Clock Skew [Auto] IOH Clock Skew [Auto] ------------ Extreme Engine Digi+ ------------ Digi+ PWR Mode [T-Balanced] PWR Volt. @George Please add new BIOS to the OP: R3E0802 (7zip), it just went official. This could also be useful for the OP: ftp://.../Rampage_III_Extreme/ |

Hey guys, I'm running the R3E with i7 980X. The R3E has preformed well for me. I had the R2E before, another good mobo. The R3E is a nice upgrade over R2E. Here's my 24/7 oc @ 4400mhz. Memory 12gig Mushkin REDline, water cooled gpu, cpu, and soon a full cover motherboard block from EKWaterBlocks. |

Hello, Donmarkoni, just came back from the vacation . Might try the newest BIOS soon . I have snatched 4GB kit of patriot Viper II 2000 DRAM , so, hopefully, the ocing might go smoother now. BTW 4,3 fully stable here. |

Hi! Now to see what that memory can do. 4.3GHz is good 24/7 speed.I use Core 4200/UnCore 4000/QPI 3600/RAM 2000 (7-9-7-21-1T) and Core 4305/UnCore 3690/QPI 3690/RAM 1640 (6-7-6-18-1T) for folding@home with almost no difference in speed and temperature. Actually first one is couple of seconds faster and couple of degrees cooler. ![]() I was trying 4.4GHz 24/7 stable, but still no luck. ![]() I'm thinking of lapping my Xeon, so I can give it more volts and still be able to cool it. |
