Hi,guys. I'm having a problem of setting my RAM to 1866Mhz. If I set all "auto" then I'll get only 1066 Mhz on my RAM. If I set manually 1866Mhz it just won't boot, with message that overclocking has failed. The same story with XMP and Memory level up profiles. If I set my RAM to 1600Mhz than it boots but only 2Gb are visible. Later I set all to "manual" and tried to increase RAM and QPI voltage - nothing. Then once I managed to run my RAM at 1800 Mhz in XMP profile with BCLK frequency: 150 and multiplier on x20. But the system was unstable. I don't need to run my i7 on 4Ghz,I just want to have my current system running on it's max. Thanks for reading and trying to help. |

definitely bookmark and read http://i4memory.com/ramdetect/ ![]() Asus forum has sticky threads with some asus bios templates http://i4memory.com/f54/ find one which has bios settings format close to your board and post the bios settings you have tried in the format of the bios settings template As per outlined at http://i4memory.com/ramdetect/ for >180bclk or 1800+mhz mem speeds you'd need to push QPI/DRAM (cpu vtt) to voltages which sometime aren't ideal for 24/7 usage. i.e. 1.4-1.65v cpu vtt. That is the nature of integrated mem controllers on cpu's such as i7 as each cpu has differing quality for mem controllers. I'd start at QPI/DRAM (cpu vtt) of 1.35v with vdimm 1.65v and find what mem speed is stable for it first then slowly raise QPI/DRAM as you scale memory to see how it goes. Reading all info and linked threads at http://i4memory.com/ramdetect/ will help. |
