2x1GB Twin2X2048-10000C5DF Dominator
Asus P5K Deluxe 0311 bios

More tests to confirm that indeed black dimm slots on Asus P5K Deluxe seem to clock these 10000C5D Dominators alot higher with tighter timings and lower vdimm than yellow dimm slots.

System
Corsair 10000C5D Dominators:

Using memtest86+ v1.70:

Yellow slots = 590mhz 5-5-5-18 10-42-10-10-11 at 2.45v memtest semi stable
Black slots = 625mhz 5-5-5-15 3-30-3-3-8 at 2.4v memtest able

In windows had to loosen the subtimings up and drop the clocks a bit for 2.4v vdimm but still @620Mhz 5-5-5-15 8-30-8-8-8 at 2.4v is much better than Yellow slots @590mhz 5-5-5-18 10-42-10-10-11 at 2.45v which was only semi stable in memtest.

eva, any idea on what, "Clock Over-Charging Mode" does?
Is AUTO the best value to set it at?
Also SB, should this be set manually or just left at AUTO for best results?

What is a safe max NB voltage for the stock cooling?

Hi Vito and welcome

Not sure.. i hear it helps with stability at the borderline unstable max clocks ... i leave it at AUTO. SB volts helps max ram clocks sometimes so setting it to 1.05 or 1.20 might help.. use memtest to test and see etc.

probably NB 1.4v would be best ... but i'd put a fan over stock NB heatsink anyway

Thanks, will have a play around a bit more tonight, Only got my P5K-E last night, there doesn't seem to be too much difference between it and the deluxe, so hopefully I can get some good results.

Have you used the 401 official bios? Would be interesting to see if there are any gains. (Edit - my mistake, 401 is for -E only)

Sorry for another noob question, but just trying to get my head around all the voltage options, I'm not sure what the following ones are, and what is too much.

CPU Voltage Reference
CPU PLL Voltage
FSB Termination Voltage
North Bridge Voltage Reference

Thanks.

CPU Voltage Reference
CPU PLL Voltage
FSB Termination Voltage
North Bridge Voltage Reference

All contribute to allowing higher max FSB on cpus.. the NB volts and to an extent the FSB volts depending on cpu used also help with max memory clocks.
