Purchased a new monster of a FX-57 CABCE 0516 WPMW cpu from i4memory.com's official sponsor, Mittoni.com.au (read here ) and it arrived today along with a new DFI NF4 UT SLI-DR R.AB0. Thanks Louis/Mittoni.com.au Mittoni.com.au had FX-55 San Diego with CABCE 0518 WPMW as well, could be a nice batch with the WPMW, but I went with the more proven FX-57 San Diego 90nm 0516 WPMW ![]() Full pics here http://www.fileshosts.com/AMD/FX57/1/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- Info - FX-57 clocked at 2.8Ghz by default, is AMD's fastest single core socket 939 cpu out now - with 90nm SGOI (strained silicon) process and 1MB L2 cache based on the new San Diego core. - standard vcore between 1.35-1.4v - max processor current = 74.9A (1.388v vMax at peak) - supports x86, x86-64, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, 3DNow! - power output rated at 104W Findings - interesting the memory controller on FX-57 is definitely the cream of the crop handled my Gskill PC4400LE for 50 loops of memtest #5 at 300mhz 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.87v easy - the ram best before was on 3500+ Clawhammer same speeds, but all venice, winchesters only managed 290-294mhz 2.5-3-3-7. - drive strength 7 or 8 works at 10x280mhz 2.5-3-3-7 and no BSOD with either, usualy with my other cpus, the cpu mem controller would only like one value optimally. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like my old 3700+ sandy 0515 MPM (@2830mhz) will be up forsale next week hehe ![]() You'll have to wait till later tonight for some drool worthy screenies |
