Of course Alpha!!! , what else would i be talking about? Well im running on the A8N SLi at the moment and it's sitting on 34c idle and after 20mins of dual sp2004 it reached 45c, so will see what it's like when the ceramique settles a bit, but i think your right in that the other one is reading the temps wrong , the ambient has actually gone up by just over a degree (now on 25.2c) so i think this 1 is starting to show more realistic temps or though i would still prefer to see it lower, just for piece of mind if anything!

Yes its comforting seeing low temps, even if they are a load of bull I have given up entirely looking at temps since I got this Expert and WC, I have a temp probe fitted so the side of the IHS that I look at occasionally but as long as its running and totally silent I dont even think about it anymore |

| By alpha0ne Quite true Alpha!
That is what i think i shall do, first up by a temp probe and stick on the side of the IHS, and second so long as it reads right forget about the bloody temps! |

Have done a little more tweaking and playing about and now have it nice and stable at 2.85GHz @ 1.375v BIOS, did play around with 2.9GHz but it wasn't totally stable, (lasted 2h:27m dual sp2004 with core 1 crapping out first) so need a little more work yet. Keeping in mind i'm only running an x1600xt, i did my first 3D Mark 03 run on this system tonight @ 2.8GHz, wasn't to bad considering the card 3D Mark 03 This was with the card clocked at 600/750, standard clocks for this card are 587/692, the card has more left in it yet and load temps with stock cooler never exceeded 53c and idle at 38c, i'll try get some screenies up today sometime. But, while looking around for some parts on the net tonight i couldn't help myself and placed an order for another opty and a Vid card , getting an Opty 150 and a 7900GT which will replace the x1600xt, dam this hobby is soooo addictive! |

Decided to play some more with my 170 today as it's now running in my A8N SLi Premium with my G.Skill HZ's. (Until i get my Ultra-D sorted out )The 150 is now running in my A8R32-MVP Deluxe and is currently priming at 2905MHz @ 1.4 BIOS volts & using my newest G.Skill ram , 2GB ZX extreme Series at 2-3-2-5, i'll get some screenies of that setup a bit later. Ok, below is a screenie of my current PI runs with this setup, this 170 is surprising me more and more with how far i can push it and with such low voltages! PI Runs: ![]() Ambient Temp: 24.7c Idle Temp: 32c Load Temp: 39c The above runs are with a Vcore of 1.40 BIOS volts, ram at 1:1 @ 2.65v with clocks of 3-4-3-6 , not to bad considering i had a few other programs running in the background, anyway just about to do a 32m run and then some stress prime but thought i would post an update of where i was at first. ![]() More to come. |

![]() I'd be quite happy to leave it at 2.8 but i think it has a bit left in it yet so i'll just keep going as i have been and see where it ends up. |
