First time checking out a 2x2GB DDR2 kit of memory and the first contender to reach my hands is a 4GB G.Skill F2-8000CL5D 4GBPQ 5-5-5-15 dual channel kit fresh off the production lines according to serial number = 740 = week 40, 2007. Thanks G.Skill for supplying the kit ![]() Product url http://gskill.com/en/f2-8000cl5d-pq.html Specification:
![]() Poor lighting forced me to use flash on my camera ![]() From irev210's review photo here it seems to be non-Micron based ICs. Will be using E6850 on DFI LP UT P35-T2R motherboard to test this memory out - 4GB memtest86+ v1.70 will takes ages |

Some quick tests of Prime95 v25.4 and a barrage of Everest, Sandra 2008 XII and Super Pi benchmarks all done at 2.1v vdimm. System
CAS5 - Prime95 v25.4 All subtimings on AUTO except tRFC which needed loosening to 48 @stock 500Mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.10v ![]() @510Mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.10v ![]() @520Mhz 5-5-515 at 2.10v Seems to be close to max at 2.10v memory voltage so far with AUTO set subtimings and manually set tRFC 48 value. ![]() ![]() Super Pi - single & dual 32M ![]() ![]() ![]() Everest Ultimate 4.10.1052 beta ![]() Sandra 2008 XII - Buffered & Unbuffered ![]() ![]() CPUZ Validation ![]() Not bad for <US$190 4GB kit with non-micron ICs. More tests including CAS4 to come soon |

I kindda like mine too Sir Eva, I was looking initially at the Mushkin set, though these are way cheaper and perform great on my P5K DLX at 1000mhz at 2 volts... when the Striker returns from RMA or the Maximus will arrive at the shop i can pump them in there...and test...

Nicely done as always George I've got some Patriot, OCZ and Corsair 2x2GB kits lined up for a possible review but I'm trying to hunt down kits using D9HNL ICs as I am really curious what the 2GB D9 modules are capable of in comparison with their 1GB brethren. Any idea of what ICs are used on these G.Skills? ProMOS perhaps? That'd be my guess from my experience with some ProMOS 2x1GB kit earlier in the year. Looking forward to further testing mate |
