OK Boys... Where the hell do I start with OC'ing these babies? The A8N32-SLI BIOS still has me a bit frazzled so is there any way I can determine the max speed of these things without the BIOS? I know A64 tweaker or clockgen might do it???

OK been doing quite a bit of testing guys after I finally found how to stop the mobo from using the mem divider... Specs of my machine are:
So far results are as follows: - Forget voltages, these modules don't like anything over 2.8v - Tightest timings I could achieve are; CAS 2.5, TRCD 3, TRP3, TRAS 6. These are the exact specs that Corsair quote. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get them to run CAS 2. - 226Mhz was the highest I was able to go for the PC to boot into windows. It was running fine for general type stuff but far from stable. Running memtest as I type this at 222Mhz, and so far so good. I get memtest errors at anything higher. Currently trying to find highest speed on tightest timings while running CPU and RAM 1:1. I'll update as I go... EDIT1: Added BIOS version. EDIT2: Looks like 218Mhz is the highest these go on tight timings. This is the only speed that actually survived a full memtest pass. Gonna loosen the timings and see how I go. EDIT3: And with the loosest timings a whopping 224Mhz! Final verdict is that these modules are pretty crap overclockers but have decent timings for a 2GB kit. I think I may need to look at upgrading. |
