Bought one pair from crucial.com and i got a 2nd set of individual single 1GB ballistix tracers 2nd hand to make up to a 4GB config ![]() Singles: CM128M6416T27ZD2T-4YXCDFTL vs Dual channel kit: BL12864L503. 16TD I emailed crucial to ask about the different code in the left side white label on modules and was told the code depends on the retailer etc i.e. Crucial direct shows L503 etc, while newegg where the singles came from showed ZD2T. The orange label on modules comes from crucial/micron and the PN (crucial terms material #) denotes the memory ICs used. Crucial confirmed both PN of 51181 use the same Micron ICs ![]() Now both sets do exactly same settings 280-285mhz 3-3-3-8 8-18-2223 1T at 2.76v. So thought I'd try 4x 1GB config with 2T. To start with for 4GB, in DFI NF4 advance chipset bios section you need to enable PCI MMIO memory hole option to properly map 4GB otherwise you will only see 3GB of memory. from 623-3 official bios Settings used VID = AUTO VID Special = AUTO chipset = 1.6v LDT = 1.3v LDT 3x Vdimm = 2.7v (2.76v real) +0.03v = enabled = 2.79v vdimm CPC = Disabled (2T) CAS Latency(CL) = 3 RAS to CAS(Trcd) = 3 Min RAS# Active time(Tras) = 8 Row Precharge Time(Trp) = 3 Row Cycle Time(Trc) = 8 Row Refresh Cycle Time(Trfc) = 18 Row to Row Delay(Trrd) = 2 Write Recovery Time(Twr) = 2 Write to Read Delay(Twtr) = 2 Read to Write Delay(Trwt) = 3 Refresh Period (Tref) = 4708 Write CAS Latency(Twcl) = 1 DRAM Bank Interleave = Enabled Skew = AUTO Skew Value = 0 DRAM Drive Strength = AUTO DRAM Data Drive Strength = AUTO Max Async Latency = AUTO DDRAM Response Time = Normal Read Preamble Time = AUTO Idle Cycle Limit = 16 Dynamic Counter = Disabled R/W Queue Bypass = 16x Bypass Max = 7x 32 byte Granularity = Disable Will take ages to complete memtest ![]() edit: more piccies @12x250mhz 3-3-3-8 2T at 2.79v test #8 will freeze at 19% don't have enough patience to figure out the test #8 freezes so dropped down to 240mhz 3-3-3-8 2T at 2.79v with no probs - fixed freezes by swapping dimm slots for ram see http://i4memory.com/f50/4x-1gb-crucial-ballistix-tracer-pc4000-dfi-nf4-ut-sli-dr-1316-post19639/#post19639 ![]() ![]() hmmm Pcmark04 only sees 3GB of ram heh Pcmark04 = 5,582 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm04=3069486 |

Butters and I were over charged for customs by UPS http://i4memory.com/f50/2x1gb-kit-get-1213-post19526/#post19526 not sure about random_ninja though. crucial ones cost me AUD$585 + AUD$123 overcharged customs should of been AUD$89 2nd hand ones cost me AUD$440 so average cost per 2GB set = AUD$557 if customs was charged correctly or AUD$574/each with incorrectly charged customs heh Newegg.com has 2x1GB sets for US$310 now so if you can get a friend to send you some via USPS EMS probably cost AUD$520 after 10% GST - but i think they're out of stock right now due 9/9. |
