still being bugged about the mipmap thingy though guys.

at this point i feel its too hard to say if its a cheat or not some think its a cheat some dont. whos right and whos wrong?

if we all agree that it is. then everyone in the world should know and be aware. which basically means hwbot must go through the results more carefully - attn massman

but i dont know about futuremark.. there's really no way to prevent it?

cuz as long as this is inconclusive.... everyone i know will use it for most part. since technically it's still a tweak.


i restate my stands
1) We agree it's a cheat. No one should use it.

Pros: PROPER way of benching
no ridicoulous scores


Cons: No governing body
no way to confirm you did it
no enforcement
score may be accepted on hwbot since too many results n some may slip through? (er massman?)
futuremark dosent ban it neither have they made a comment or stance about it

if this is the case then hwbot MUST MUST MUST ensure scores are not mipmapped.

2) We agree its a tweak
Pros: lod, clocks and all still need to be retweaked after applying mip
harder to see if shaders or mem is hammered hard since blank screen?
well for me i dont believe its just a check box. i believe after u check it, things still need to be retweaked.

Cons: MASSIVE scores
ati dudes lose out

if this is the case then hwbot should unban this if it is banned on all 3d benches.

3) We dont agree on anything
then its everyman for himself. u can disagree u can blablablablabla but still no one says its not legit. no one says its a cheat. well YOU can say it's a cheat but others may not think so. some do some dont. whos wrong whos right?

if this is the case then i suggest tweaked or untweaked, is all up to the benchmarker. and we have no position to say whether score is legit or not. so if this is the case then either way.. the score is accepted.



so what say we? imho... we're at number 3 now. the line is too thin to have a clear stance on 1 or 2.
