nope, didnt seem to make a difference.
At the moment im tending to think it is my X48T limiting my OC's on these wolfdales, since i have 3 different batches all doing the same speed

i have no problems doing 3DMARK06 at 5.1GHz with 1.61v on SS (FSB limited)
X38-DQ6

1.92v seems excessive
could it be FSB related with the bios you are using maybe?

yeah it could be, but i definately needed to push more CPU volts to stabilise

ehe Funny **** somtimes..i have spent since 5 am on superpi 32Mb with countless reboots after a few min into the run. i was at 1.675 vcore set in bios prolly 1.625 real under load..

I simply lowered vcore down to 1.525 in the bios and has just done 2 runs without fail..
this was done at 502 fsb and 515 fsb.. under load speedfan cpuz reading 1.5vcore under load

I have just lowered all my Nb and sb voltages back into the green zone and still letting the 8400 run super Pi..

after this run i will try at 520 fsb and keep raising untill it wont cope anymore..

But on Dice 2 weekends ago the vcore wasnt a issue So the phase cooling im using is not enuff heat removal to keep the cpu happy much after 1.5 vcore..atm cpu is only at -8c once speedfan starts heading towards 0c it is lockup or reboot time usually for me.
