Benching with W3520 + X58A-UD9

Picked up another 7kgs of dry ice today and started some benching.

My first goal was to get 1st spot on hwbot for CPU-Z

I did it with this,

I set QPI to slow mode in BIOS to achieve that result.

My next aim was to try get into top 3 for Superpi. Getting there slowly, forgot to click on the memory page when taking the screenshot though.

Pretty happy, my personal best, memory was 7-7-7-20 @ 1.66V (Set at BIOS).

System Specs,
- Intel Xeon W3520 batch # ********
- Gigabyte X58A-UD9 motherboard F4A BIOS
- 6GB Corsair Domintor GT CMG6GX3M3A2000C7
- Kingpin Dragon F1 Extreme Edition CPU pot
- MSI R4350 GPU
- Western Digital 150GB Velociraptor
- Enermax Revolution 1250W PSU

Another 1st spot on hwbot.

Superpi 32m

I installed my version (nlite) of Windows XP x64 SP2 for that run. Still messing around with memory timings and uncore frequencies. Might be able to push it a little more.

This is good for 1st spot in hwbot pifast for W3520

Just realised that after installing and running wprime in x64 its SLOWER than in 32 bit so I am going to reinstall Windows XP 32bit again... rookie mistake...

oh btw, maybe try using LESS dry ice in the pot, maybe an inch at the bottom, with 2 inches of acetone.. that way it doesnt get think and it bubbles well.. this should give you the best temps

Thanks youngpro

I know what you mean about the dry ice, I had a 10ml syringe that I use to draw up the acetone from the 1lt bottle I bought from k-mart. It works a treat and saves it dribbling down on the board / bench which happened to me when I pour it in. I squirted (lol) a bit in after taking that pic and it bubbled away.

Temps were okay, easy enough to control. I wouldn't be able to use those volts and frequencies for a 1024M Wprime run, I need ln2 for that.

I am going to buy a dewar in the next couple of weeks. I want to get into a 6 minute 32m Super Pi run under my belt. I am looking at buying some 2200C8 memory too. That should work well for a 250bclk, 10x mem and 20x uncore for ln2... maybe..

Board is rock solid, love it. I like it when things just work.

BTW, that capture program works a treat!
