Burning in my OCZ ValueVX on NF7-S2
This is a discussion on Burning in my OCZ ValueVX on NF7-S2 within the OCZ DDR1 on AMD forums, part of the DDR1 AMD Memory category; Well I just finished running it for ~30hrs and it only detected 530 errors. I will leave it running again ...

If you had it running for an hour with no errors, it must be lack of airflow that is causing the errors after extended periods. Try putting a fan blowing directly onto the RAM or even a fan blowing across it. I have limited knowledge of memory overclocking...but I have done it sucessfully with value vx. My theory is that some of the chips do not handle the voltage as well as others, and since there is no heatspreader to average the heat (without active cooling) these chips will cause the errors in memtest #5 (this test generates the most heat). Don't get me wrong, I agree with everyone else here, when you *are* using active cooling heatspreaders are probably a hindrance. |
