Hi, I have just finished putting my new system together and was suprised to see I can adjust the VDIMM up to 3.2v. I have burned the Memtest ISO to CD, but have never used the program. How exactly do I go about burning my RAM in? 200MHz is probably the max I will be able to go with my Sempron 2400+ and stock cooling. Is it OK to run the RAM at 3.2v without any cooling on it? Thanks |

To burn it in, run the ram at 200FSB with timings of 2-2-2-x @ 3.2v and loop test #5 of memtest for 48 hours. Don't worry about the errors you will see in the early part of it, that is why the ram has to be burned in. It will clock better for it, which is why OCZ recommend it in the first place ![]() To use memtest, you will need to boot with a DOS boot disk. Something like a Win98 boot disc will do it, which you can get from www.bootdisk.com if you don't have a Win 98 CD ![]() With the ram at 3.2v, you should be fine, but it is always nice to cool it a little witha fan pointing over it |
