You guys might want to look into some early OCZ VX3200 Gold Edition. The price on these have dropped at Newegg since Redline came out. On a hunch, I picked up 2x512 at $161 U.S. I believe. Cheaper than the cheapest Redline now. I got them to 270x10, 2-2-2-6 @ 3.5 VDIMM last night, 32M stable (I posted my results on Extreme). I was surprised they did 32M, as the sticks ran 269/270 in SC in the 1st yellow slot, but in the orange they are 32M stable in DC at 270!!! I had to tweak the settings to get them Memtest clean in #6/8 at 270, but that they did. They will do #5 clean higher, but #6 errors show up in DC with >3.5 VDIMM. The sticks are damn sweet: 270, 2-2-2-6 at 3.5 VDIMM, on default LDT and VCHIP voltage, 4x LDT! The screenie is 195 kb so I can't post it here. I have a set of Redlines in my possession and they are crap; one stick develops #6 errors above 261 or so. In DC the sticks do 260 maybe, at 3.5 volts. The Redlines do not exude quality: fuzzy PCB edges; cheap alu spreaders; label looks like made with an ink-jet printer. I'm not surprised they die on you. Maybe I'm fussy, but I mean the standard for me is Vitesta PC600. |
