What would be the best 2GB stuff that will let me keep my overclock?

there isn't any 2x1GB kits that do 2-2-2-6 timings best you can hope for is 2-3-2-5 or 2.5-3-2-5 or 3-3-2-5 which OCZ PC4000EB would be able to do.

What do you think a 3000+ @ 2.5Ghz is equal to cpu wise? I'm thinking of getting a new cpu, 3800+? the improvements from dual core might offset the loss of the performance gains from overclocking.

Honestly trying to upgrade as much as possible for as little as possible.

maybe browser around your local 2nd hand forsale forum/markets for X2 4200-4400+ cpus probably could find yourself a bargain considering folks are off loading their cpus for core2s these days.

yes there is, I had a set of Micron based Crucial Ballistix Tracers that went up to 212MHz 2-2-2 @ about 3.1-3.2V on my DFI Expert and could hit 3-3-3-8 1T @ 295MHz but yes its very rare for this.

indeed, expensive.

I don't understand why with all the computers moving to 1 and 2GB of RAM why it's still so expensive.
