Vapochill condensation on the caps
Old 29-08-2008, 03:28 PM   #1 (permalink)

It's been smooth sailing for the last month with the vapochill, but not so now. Having a ***** of a time with condensation on the caps around the mosfet area.

I'm a bit green when it comes to phase/subzero. A question, I'm using the supplied heaters. Should the backplate feel very cold to the touch? The other day the backplate was dripping, and albeit that now seems to be under control, it's very cold to the touch. I'm not expecting it to be hot, but I'm wondering if the heater has packed in.

Heater on the Backside is handy but i never use it...Thicker matting on rear side of the Board is best way to go as vapo is to thin ...But then you have the problem of poles to short to screw into the supplied backing plate...i get around this buy cutting down the Supplied pole to get more of the threaded side thru the board and then just not cranking the top nuts so tight ...

the supplied Vapo hard block on the inside of evap head i remove and put thick insulation tube over evap head leaving 6mm from the bottom of evap ..this allows me a thick insulation matt on topside of the board over the cpu....to hold evap into correct place ..i just use a hard plastic that enables me to slide evap down onto of cpu for correct mount position then slide down enclouser and tighten nuts...doing this allows Good insulation with now moisture worries plus 100% mount as i can place evap onto cpu and see with my eyes it is laid correctly...i also wrap towling around Evap hose tubing as they tend to condensate as they are usually loose and cant be airtight. this stops condensation working its way down enclouser onto motherboard..

quick hint i run the vapo heaters of the motherboard 12v fan power outlets...i dont like running chill control in windows as it is not reliable plus it chews up alot of processor usage ..check this you can see in task manager ....
