Good review Eva, I take it the temps recorded are from an open bench setup or did you put it in a closed case? Do you have any plans to test with the fans oriented the other way round and what difference would you predict? Looks like a very nice cooler I must admit. |

Yeah open bench since I haven't used a pc case in nearly 4yrs for 4 out of 5 of my pcs ![]() I think from all reviews i read, best temps is with fan blowing on wider length side of Scythe Infinity as pictured above |

Time to test 120x38mm Delta 190cfm 3.0amp fan. Mounting done by trusty zip ties as pictured here. ![]() Scythe Infinity with 120x38mm Delta 190cfm 3.0amp fan Bios value => Intel Desktop Utilities value (windows) CPU idle = 50-52C => 41C System Zone 1 idle = 33-35C => 34C System Zone 2 idle = 29-31C => 31C Intel Desktop Utilities value (windows) CPU load = 55-56C System Zone 1 load = 37-38C System Zone 2 load = 32-33C Room temp = 26.8C Idle ![]() Load (click image for larger image) ![]() 955XE @ stock 3466Mhz at 1.275v quad stressprime load compare between Scythe stock 120x25mm 46.5cfm fan vs Thermaltake 120x25mm 81cfm fan vs Delta 120x38mm 190cfm fan ![]() I believe the system temps are higher on Delta due to the fan being more focused air flow being in the centre versus the TT 81cfm fan having a more even air flow which would help the mosfets under the Scythe Infinity heatsink. |
