By NoOzLyes, on that note... I have found something very interesting... if I don't tighten the block tight enough onto the chip - the yellow LED just to the right of the RAM slots doesn't come on... and then the system won't power on when I push the power button...
I hope that it's actually a safety mechanism, and not some kind of hardware problem, as I don't recall it being this way in the past...

By groovetekI new heeh.
its looking good guys. it amazing what the cold does to things hey.
I just love that frost on the hold down plate.
i would say it wasnít the AS5 that did the damage, i was using that on me bartons for a year or so cascade temps.
I think its the large tube and the slight bend with good hold down pressures that cause the core to crack. Its put me off doing my chip now.
i have seen a sandeago 3700 90ns with no lid hit the cold bug with phase change over at extreme resources at 3.3ghz. and around -42c die temps -55c evap runnin by drewmaster.
So i would imagine you guys are on the edge of the cold bug for that chip.
But i think one day i might have to get a venice and see my luck.
Are yous thinking about LN next.
this is runmc at team Puss. i seen ya there today T_M

we are only on DICE for the while, once i get a decent chip will consider it.
i still dont think it was a mechanical failure (cracking/chipping).
I think temp/volts, since we experienced a temp gradient prior to failure and took a while to occur.
yeah been on teampuss few months now
