man a 22g large tube of ceramique is only $10 from hardlynormals which is good... ceramique is actually better overall anyway... easier to clean off, performance is same, cheaper, and non-capacitive... might grab some when my as5 runs out (although... shouldn't need to use thermal paste for a long time...) |

So next up was testing the 3200+ 0517 monster, we hoped she liked the cold We improved (or so we think) our plastic wrapping style, although im a little dubious because we were getting trickles of condensation out the bottom of it every now and then. ![]() And after switching her on we found that she does enjoy the wintery chill ![]() |

Now, strangely with the same RAM as before, we could not at any voltage get this 3200+ to play nicely at or above 3100MHz (310 x 10). It was certainly cold enough, but we didnt have a whole lot of time by now to be trouble shooting for too long. Found that after booting at say 300x10, then using Clockgen we slowly approached the 310htt mark, but as soon as we clicked on to 310 or above (well actually we did get it to 1M once at 3114MHz = 27.2sec or something) it would just freeze solid and we'd have to reset ![]() So, we just opted for some max stability runs at what we could get at the time = 3095MHz...... and boy oh boy was it stable and loving it ![]() 8M ![]() 32M ![]() 3DMark'03 ![]() Strangley, with an extra 95MHz my 3d score did not budge above my previous best on water - we think maybe GPU bottleneck (X850XT @ 685/672)!?!? |

Since we'd hit some buggy wall, we decided to give the 3500+ one last thrashing for the evening, with the aim being slightly more volts and a better mount to give >3400MHz screenie-able (forgot to do a suicide on previous run). Removing the 3200+ ![]() (photo taken outside in the dark while raining around us) |
