ok, ive just got the rig rebuilt, the house cleaned, and my head checked after panicking that all my gear might be dead and not just the CPU. Thankfully - everything else seems to have survived, at the time my 4000vx was sitting right beside and i was half sure i would be crying about them tonight too. ok, following this post will be my semi-write-up for the days event complete with pictures. If we get the website up and running it'll be more complete than in here, with movies and the likes. |

starting around 9:30am today, scragley rocked over to my current residence, and another mate of mine Benno also turned up a little later (the guy who does my soldering and pump controllers and stuff) for the joy ride. scragley, benno, T_M |

First order of the day was to demolish my set-up and start the rebuild, which included draining and re-piping my water cooling to remove the G4 CPU block from the loop, leaving only the GPU block. Made a mess all over the table cloth, and the table and floor. Quick wipe up and it was set to bleed the air as we worked in the PC room setting up. ![]() |

Next was board prep. we were told that the DICE tube and its supplied insulation was enough to prevent condensation, but just to be sure scrags set us up with a bottom layer of glad wrap. Then we screwed the board down, and placed the 3500+ CAA2C 130nm CPU. |
