oh i've got arcticlean as well lol, hmm this is my first time lapping. But can I use arcticlean on the bottom side of the cpu as well? - like if stuff from the sanding process gets in there.

My cpu when bought had a bent effect where it wasnt exsactly flat.
Maybe lapping it would help though is the cpu metal easy to lapp.
It really is like it is bubbled out in one corner.
I get 83c on 1.29v where as before my AS5 set is was like 60c?

The metal is nickle plated copper so yes it is fairly easy to lap.

Lapping the IHS voids any warranty though.

Not knowing which cpu and cooler you have makes it hard but something is not right with those temps, are you sure the cooler is seated properly?

Test the surface of the IHS and the base of the heatsink with a razorblade (or similar straight edge)

Lay the blade (on edge) across from corner to corner and look for light being visible between the blade and the IHS/heatsink.

Any chance you can post a pic showing the offending corner?
