| Gearing up for first DICE run
Wanted to make sure I have everything set CPU & GPU pots (included wth insulation and mountings) shop towels clear coat nail polish (is PCB laquer better?) denatured alcohol zip ties I know about mounting first to wait for temps to see if you mounted correctly. Im pretty sure I have my methodolgy down from reading all the DICE faq's/walkthroughs about 200x. What I was wondering is does anyone have any particular tips from there runs they want to share with me? I am going to be benching just CPU the first time (e8400 & e2160) in vista for wprime/pcmark05/pcmarkvantage. I have 3 P5B Dlx's I could do it on or a Gigabyte X38 DQ6. Which would be the better choice? |

well the first P5B maxed out at about 560FSB... i was very dissapointed, but I guess maybe I can just bench my qx6850 on it. The second one is dead I missed a thumbscrew sitting on the board from when I mounted and it was sitting on some components near the south bridge. I turned it on and *zap* smelled like a wet dog in the sun. I quick turn everything off, and but nothing will get it to reboot. I checked all other compnents and cpu and gfx and ram are all ok *phew* luckily I only paid about $50 US a piece for these, so losing 1 isnt that bad. I just wish I couldve tested for maxfsb :/ the third one will be going under the maxfsb treatment tonight and tomorrow |

Test on Air to get the best Fsb possible on all boards then use that 1..
