EK Supreme LT + FESER 480 (DFI UT X58-T3EH8)

Finally got around to building my new water cooling loop - first time for Core i7 cpu cooling

Moved my DFI UT X58-T3EH8 from Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme air cooling to the following:

Originally had Swiftech GTZ 1366 in mind but saw reviews EK was better for 1366 socket. Also bought some XSPC LCD temp sensor probes (rated down to -50C) to attach to my Corsair Dominator GT modules when I try out Corsair's TEC Ram cooling. XSPC LCD, EK Supreme LT, Feser 480 and T-line bought from Gammods.com.au

Corsair TEC memory cooler will be using separate water cooling loop with Corsair Nautilus 500

Finishing off some leak testing before booting her up

21x206Bclk

Real test of Feser 480/EK Supreme LT cooling power with short 5 pass Linx test @21x206Bclk = 4309Mhz at 1.488v!

Load to Idle delta temps = ~39C to 46C
  • 206 Bclk bios set
  • Vcore 1.4v + 104.25% bios set = 1.488v - 1.504v idle / 1.488v load
  • Vdroop Disabled
  • CPU VTT = 1.44v bios set
  • VDIMM = 1.65v bios set
  • ICH/IOH = 1.23v bios set
  • ICH Analogue = 1.15v bios set
  • tRFC = 88
  • tRRD = 6
  • tRTW = 6
  • tFAW = 31

Max CPU clock with HT enabled vs HT disabled

Nice improvement on water cooling! On air max ceiling with HT enabled was stuck around 4473Mhz for super pi 32M and booting >4473mhz needed to disable HT at which max validation was 4769Mhz and 4652Mhz for 32M Pi with HT disabled.

Now with water cooling, so far max ceiling with HT enabled increased from 4473mhz to 4619Mhz for Super Pi 32M and 4669Mhz for CPUZ Validation. HT disabled max 32M Pi increased from 4652Mhz to 4680Mhz and Validation is around 4744Mhz so far. This is first attempt, so could be more to squeeze out to fiddle with right voltages for max bclk stability

TRUE120 Air
  • Max 32M Super Pi = 4473Mhz HT enabled / 4652Mhz HT disabled
  • Max Validation = 4473Mhz HT enabled / 4769Mhz HT disabled

EK Supreme LT / Feser480 H20
  • Max 32M Super Pi = 4618Mhz HT enabled / 4680Mhz HT disabled
  • Max Validation = 4669Mhz HT enabled / 4744Mhz HT disabled

i7 920 @4618.9Mhz HT enabled
Super Pi 32M

i7 920 @4680.6Mhz HT disabled
Super Pi 32M

Max CPUZ Validation @4669Mhz HT enabled & @4744Mhz HT disabled

@4669Mhz HT enabled

@4744Mhz HT disabled

Amazing what a water cooling can do for max stable bclk too. On air 228 bclk was max for 32M pi, but on H20 straight boot from bios 32M done at 230blck with ease!

229bclk boot from bios

230bclk boot from bios

231bclk 32M Passed

232bclk 1M

setfsb bump from 230bclk to 233bclk
