Alphacool AP1510 Pump 17W with 12v to 24v Transformer (up to 6M head!) - thanks Radiical.com.au

May use Kayl custom 100W external psu (adjustable +12v rail up to 13.5v) to provide 'always on' pump performance since Intel boards have auto power down and restart for strap changes)
IIRC, it's been nearly 18 months since I redid this loop so there's bound to be some dust and other build up What I found was nasty.
Now I wonder why this setup wasn't doing that well for cooling my quad core Q6600 B3 ES/GO retail, Xeon 3230 and probably my QX9650 results as well.
All the gear laid out ready to swap over
Now for the external Dtek Rad Tower Box... found a heavy duty UPSPS delivery box just right for modding
I placed the Thermochill HE120.3 vertically and cut out some holes for the fan intake from the radiator fans. I also made 2x 120mm fan hole cut outs on opposite site for exhaust fans which also give a small wind tunnel effect from radiator fan intake airflow to the other end. This also cools the Alphacool AP1510 pump since it's positioned between the two
Leak testing right now. The Alphacool AP1510 is one powerful pump even at 12v!
Alphacool AP1510 Transformer Numbers
As you can see from the info on the actual transformer below, you can select voltages from 12v, 15v, 18v, 21v, and 24v!
The transformer was connected to my Kayl custom 100W external psu and I used my multimeter to measure what voltages are given at each setting from 12v through to 24v.
I did notice that my custom 100W psu needed to be adjusted higher to around 12.39v to be able to register voltages for 18v and 21v settings but even maxing out my custom 100W psu at 13.5w wasn't enough to full use 24v setting.
Custom 100w psu (source power of transformer) @12.39v:
12v = 12.36v
15v = 15.33v
18v = 18.22v
21v = 21.04v
24v = 22.60v (fell short of 24v)
While the Alphacool AP1510 pump does get louder as you increase voltages, it doesn't get that much louder jumping from 12v to 24v setting. But you can certainly see and even feel the increased pressure in the loop
Thats a beast of a pump Eva, the flow rates you will be getting from it combined with the D Tek will be insane. How come you have not upgraded to a PA series rad?
maybe thats why when i touch the rad on my 24/7 system its hot to touch =p
ow well im sure the pentium d will survive!
Ah still got a Pentium D huh.. same here
Anyway looking good temp wise for this setup... will have to use E6850/Q6600 cpus to get a better indication of improvement over new setup since bios/coretemp doesn't really read correctly across some boards as you can see below.
Moved QX9650 back to Blitz Extreme with Dtek Fuzion and now core 0/1 temps no longer move even under load LOL

similar core 0/1 vs core 2/3 temp differences on X38-DQ6 http://i4memory.com/80956-post27.html but with lower temps on Dtek Fuzion vs Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme air
