19"

1280x960 is perfect for a 17" CRT, but with a 19" trinitron 1280x1024 seems to look/be better.

and yes I used to use 1280x960 for years on a 17" crt

then again......both are fine.

and yer I know 1280x960 is 4:3.

Hehe yer sorry m8, I should have said 19" though I have never seen 1280 x 960 on a 17" before

Yes you can use any res you like but for the correct image display with a 4/3 size screen 17" is 1024x768 and 19" is 1280x960

For me it depends what game I'm currently playing.

My preference is for 2048x1536.
