This was the result of a previous 2 nights worth of failed benching with bad beta BIOS for Yorkfield support as well as losing a GA-X38T-DQ6 to a pop and beautiful puff of smoke.

After getting angry with having no results the platform was moved the the GA-X38-DQ6. Further wanting to simply get results, I avoided the annoyance of FSB overclocking and instability and just cranked the multiplier for some quick results. The memory and general bandwidth of this sytem is quite low compared to most.

I'm confident in that both this score will fall quite quickly and that there is much more efficiency to be gained from this system. Next step is to find out the volt mods and get some dry ice on these cards - they're great fun


Note: Post edited after clarification that the result is #1 on HWBot but Fugger @ XS has the fastest result (yet to be put on HWBot) with a 16,942 run with Yorkfield @ 4.8GHz (480FSB also) and GPU @ 750/1000(2000 effective) for GPU/memory. Still stoked with #2

Wait a sec.
You've got the 8800GT @ 1000MHz Core Clock without the Vgpu mod ? Under what cooling ?
Because under normal & good air cooling it stops around 750MHz without any vmods.

By the way, the Vgpu mod can be found @ XS.org in Fugger's thread named "8800GT in my rig", here

p.s. Some Yorkies might fail to POST under -50C ( only POST from -50C ++ ) but can bench fine even at -140C.

benchzowner, ours was posting at -100, at posting at 5.4ghz but then it wouldnt boot into windows, and this is a classic cold bug symptom, the problem is, especially if your using ln2, you gotta bring the pot up to -70 or so to boot, once in windows, pull temps down, trim volts up, then bench, if you cant hit your max frequency quickly and stay stable for some benches, it can be a long drawn out process!

I've been on deadline at work so I only validated WR with HWBot and wasn't aware of Charles' results - guess I'm number two then but still stoked

As mentioned in the OP, the GPU clocks were 760/1701/1025[2050 effective] (core/shader/memory). GPU-Z bugged out and wouldn't read the clocks correctly hence the GPU clock saying 1025MHz - My goodness I wish it was true!

With all honesty, the result is fairly average (no tweaks, poor memory etc) but I'm just glad to have gotten a result out of the damn thing after two nights of hell with benching.
