Yea - im running W7 x64. And mines reference so i have memory cooling. I also dont like those sort of temps. What woudl you use for testing it then? ATITool or just 3dmark or something ? I'll keep that in mind re GPU-z and Afterburner. What else can change the voltage other than flashing the cards bios ? |

| By scottath i normally just use 3dmark 06 for getting an idea of clocks and voltages, then do do full stability tests in any games i'm playing at the time, which for now is mostly aion and nfs shift. i just continue playing as normal and making any adjustments if it crashes, or try reducing volts etc. i dont use bios editing, or even flashing, just afterburner. different for benchmarking for me as i will build a system specifically for that and not use my regular gaming system. i would try smartdoctor as you have an asus card. maybe rivatuner.
edit: i like 3dmark 06 because i can just run a few tests, the two sm3.0 tests as it is quick and gives a score as indication |

| By muzwa kai Imo vantage and/or 3D Mark 03 are better for testing GPU clocks/performance. As 05-06 care too much about CPU MHz.

| Fan Control for 5970's in Crossfire
Hey everyone. I'm running 2 XFX 5970's in Crossfire. I just update the Bios and now have manual fan control. I'm using the MSI Afterburner software and have the fan control set to 'user defined' and the graph set up accordingly. The problem I'm having is that the fan speed on the second card (GPU's 3 & $) does not change. It hovers around 300-400 RPM. I have GPU 1 set as the master in Afterburner but the fan on the second card doesn't change. I also checked in GPU-Z and it's the same. When I try to set GPU #3 (the second card) as the master Afterburner will not let me adjust the fan control for that card. When I'm running 3dmark vantage the temps on the second card are higher than the first and I can visually see the fans on the second card are running slower. How do I gain control of the fans on the second card? Is it possible the the bios did not update on the second card? Any ideas? |

| By Homewrecker In afterburner there should be a tab link all display adapters and that should then match the fan speed of the first card
