why dx11? all the new games today are console ports that will run on anything dx11 is just a marketing ploy like dx10.1. ati could have sat on the 5xxx cards to improve the drivers for a month or so, i mean jeez a 59 does not even have a whql set. but thats just my rant about it anyways. i will put up dx11 games and stuff i find when i put my vista hd in thuo more dx9 7-5 yr old benches lol alittle bit of dice left and the card was playing the nicest i seen since i had it still weak scores but i'm tryin' ![]() ![]() ![]() the card wont hit 1g no matter how many volts i put in it(up to 1.300)even with 20c idle temps |

Posted this in the wrong spot here it is again lol, also part of the 58-59 series club obviously. Here is a comparison for 3d06 with one card same cpu clocks and overclocking the gpus to match the 5870s. Obviously shows how bad the scaling is for 4gpus atm with these drivers so much improvement to come imo. ![]() Here's one card with 05 and 06 overclocked some more on gpu and cpu. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Administrator | By Bobbylite I'm not entirely sure but I think Sapphire Vapor-X might use a different bios from reference.
By cowie Nice with just 5970 at such low clocks. Sounds like driver immaturity there. So far no probs with 2x hd5870 on xp at least for me, will see how win7 64bit goes though.
By Tekxpert Yeah will do those tests later, but I always like to start with xp to eliminate any vista/win7/driver related issues first off
![]() By cowie Looks good, but I hear not all 5870/5970 are created equal for voltage scaling ?
Will have to read up on what the typical average 5870 voltage to gpu/mem clock scaling is like. Unless Frenchlick already has some starter vcore to gpu clock scaling results for these ? I haven't installed MSI afterburner 1.41 yet but 2x hd5870 managed 3dmark06 @900/1200 without problem. By Frenchlick Is that just 1x HD5970 right (gpuz reports 2 gpus) - I think HD5970 is just that powerful - it's nearly equal to 4x HD4870x2 hehe so maybe 4.6-4.8ghz is cpu limited too ?? You on sub zero for that W3550 cpu right ?

Yeh m8 one 5970 so 2 gpus when two are hooked up gpu-z shows 4. Cpu is on one of Kayl's 3/4hp units loving it so far. Voltage scaling is definitely different between cards from memory I got the 5870s up to 995/1280 at 1.28v or there abouts.
