Nice looks better than mine around 1.262v gets me 990mhz on GPU with normal scores, with same volts 1000mhz = lower scores. Haven't tried beyond 1000mhz GPU 1.312v yet. I'm slowly testing increments against the sub test scores to ensure there's adequate volts for the clocks to give normal increased scores |

Tried 950 at stock volts but it locked up, but maybe that was coz I left the fan on auto, don't know. At 1050 I set the fan to 70% in CCC to make sure they don't cook. These cards don't scale nearly as well as the 4890's. For eg. CPU at the same clocks in 3DM06 4890 @ 1050/1150 5870 @ 1050/1300 1 x 4890= 21k 2 x 4890= 30k 1 x 5870= 28k 2 x 5870= 31k |

its not that they dont scale, its there is a cpu bottleneck, if you throw more cpu power at it, you will see them keep scaling for a while yet! fact is 3dmark06 is like 3dmark05 now, the power we have in our gpus, its totally a cpu based benchmark, if you throw alot of cpu power at your gpu tests (cpu test doesnt matter) you will see the framerates keep going up... single card is not as bottlenecked, thats why you see the dramatic increase from 4890 to 5870 oh yeah if you want to really compare gpu vs gpu, try vantage xtreme with a cpu at 4.5 or something... thought ive been hearing now even vantage x is starting to cpu bottleneck with 4 5870s or 2 5970s... |
