Re: Foxconn Dreadnought 790i + GTX280, Triple-SLI testing begins!

unfortunatly my testing didnt go to plan today, i had some problems with getting the tests to run with all 4 pots on ln2, so i cleaned everything up and started again later with 1 pot..

i found the gpu actually does like more volts, but with much lower temps, here im using about 1.33v but -140 on the gpu, today i was trying -80, so next time it will be rerun with much lower temps!

passing with some nice clocks with the lower temps,

core/shader testing nature

core/shader testing 3d05

testing single card, cpu on air

wow so basically the GPUs continue to scale with volts and colder temps ? Or just more stable at same max clocks ?

Re: Foxconn Dreadnought 790i + GTX280, Triple-SLI testing begins!

well i dunno eva, shaders definatly better with more volts and temps, but im still a bit puzzled,

tonight ill run up two cards in sli for a bit more investigation, try to gear up to triple instead of jump in head first,

ill be aiming for 1.33v on each card and -140 each, cpu just on air @ 4ghz for testing

Hi pro - got ya bags packed yet??

Been doing some more reading on these tri setups and people are quoting 300-350W max draw per card at these clocks (plus your overclocked QX9650)

Reckon you definitely need to try that second 1kw powersupply

Re: Foxconn Dreadnought 790i + GTX280, Triple-SLI testing begins!

yeah, i forgot to thank you bob for coming over and helping me on the weekend,

ive been able to test all three cards now, all work well at -140 with 1.33v on each card, but we need two 1kw psus, 1 for mobo + 1gpu the other for 2gpus for a start,

i gotta work otu what my problem with the dreadnought is and decide if we need to use a different 790i or not?

No problem m8 - was good to see the pro at work Was also good to get used to playing with LN2 - got the F1 set up and ready to roll in the next couple of weeks

Happy to lend you mine for the runs (either 1kw or 1.2kw) - I really do think this will make a difference. I am sure that power draw is at least part of the problem

Got an EVGA 790i at home that you can try if the other things fail to get ya thru Just have to get it waterproof first
