lol i'm always a day late and a dollar short
That tool looks wicked, I might give it a crack to see if I can use it, i've been using something similar called DRMSToolbox to convert the dvrms files to straight up MPegs ready to burn on DVD. I'm sure that has wmv support too, I've never dabbled in it till now, but 1:20 ratio is nothing short of amazing man.

double checked compression ration mis reported it's 22.5GB (Beijing Olympic opening ceremony) down to 5.3GB so 1:4 hehe but still nice as i can use WinAVI MP4 converter to compress even more
WMV retains fast forward/rewind abilities in MCE too

lol 22.5Gb *gasp*
What does it do exactly? I take it it transcodes it into wmv, copies to the videos folder and then deletes the original copy?

Yeah 6+ hrs olympic comes to ~44GB size default MCE DVR-MS files
MCEBuddy runs as a service and allows you to schedule when to process MCE video files. So you give it a path to look for the DVR-MS files and at scheduled time it will begin to transcode them to either WMV, DivX or H.264 and save converted files to a folder you specify at configuration time. Now you can choose to keep original file or delete it after as well. If you keep it, it will look at DVR-MS folder to compare to specified folder for converted files and if same files exist it will skip that DVR-MS file on next scheduled transcode
Oh yeah did i mention MCEBuddy can skip commercials/remove them during transcoding for ad free viewing

Here is a pic of mine, if you feel i'm invading your thread feel free to delet my pic.

Now i put the Maximus F2 in it.
When thought in this project was to make a Gaming HTPC, but a card to play at full hd, release a lot heat, and i change it to something more fresh.
How it was...

Latter i will put the pics of the final release
