hmm is that a fact eh? I thought they'd have enough power smoothing circuitry to ignore ripples ![]() Well I've returned my CPU and GPU back to stock and that's helped the voltage a bit - should make it a little safer till I get a chance to pop out and get a new PSU. |

yeah your PSU is clearly struggling you need to change that if you can't affort the ~$180+ range like the corsair HX620 i suggest you try Enermax 535W which you can get for around low $100s somewhere i have both PSUs and Enermax is very good with my current setup......under the most extreme loads in 3DMARK06 or a few others i tested i've only MEASURED the 12V rail go to 11.96V that's with E6700 with 1.5v @4GHz, 4xPC10K Dominators, 4xHDDs, 8800GTS OCd to the max 675/1000 and Corsair Nautilus Watercooler which goes off the PSU too it's great if you don't want any movement in rails and practically no noise Corsair is a good futureproofing one................one thing they should do is release a higher wattage one for people that run overclocked SLI after looking at measured power consumption for Rodneys system >> i can't believe a GTX SLI system can peak at 750W with a dual core CPU as well lol WOW |

Thanks for the help & advice thus far guys. I think my PSU is faulty, because with 30A on the 12V rail, it really ought to be able to cope with my system - it's not really extreme in any way. Locally the Enermax 535W costs the same as the Corsair HX-520. I'm leaning towards the Corsair cause its modular (handy, I have a small case) and carries a 5 yr warranty (excellent). Any other suggestions for powering my system at a reasonable price guys? |

Corsair HX620 is just over $190+ including courier delivery in the cost at http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_p...egory_id]=1215 |

Well I ordered the Corsair HX520W, couldn't really justify the additional cost for the 600 watter as the 520 still offers a 50A 12V rail, which is a lot higher than the 30A rating on my current supply. Will post back and tell yas how it goes - nothing worse than no follow up in a help thread eh? |
