| Review EVGA X58 SLI LE motherboard
I just recieved the EVGA X58 SLI LE motherboard ![]() ![]() Package contents: I/O shield 2x port Sata power cables 2x port usb and 1 port 1394 bracket 2x sata cables 1x 2-way sli bridge 1x 3-way sli bridge 1x 3-way sli bridge w/ physx bridge 1x installation cd ![]() Test platform: Danger den water box Evga x58 sli le motherboard Intel I7 960 cpu Corsair dominator 2000mhz c7 memory Corsair HX 1000w psu Ocz vertex 64 gb ssd drive Seagate barracuda 7200.10 hard drive Palit GTX 260 sonic graphics card Swiftech GTZ cpu waterblock Liang d5 vario water pump Black ice extreme 2 240mm radiator ![]() We will start with a bclk of 160 giving me 4.0ghz on the i7 960 Super pi 32m ![]() ![]() ![]() Now ill move on to wprime ![]() Everest benchmarks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now for a budget board this seems like a great option, its sexy as hell and has all the options you would expect form an evga product. Bios was very similar to the classified, just missing a few options. Maybe a bios update might enable more features, i was just using factory shipped bios. My max obtainable bclk of 214 when dropping the multipler. Temps under max load never exceeded 82 degrees, although i didn't push for a higher stable overclock due to i found the NB temperatures were getting way too high at 4ghz NB temps were 95 degrees way to high for my liking. That is my only issue with this board is the northbridge is inadequate if you were going to run this board 24/7 with a decent overclock i would highly recommend you purchased some after market cooling for the northbridge, unfortunate because it looks killer !!!!! ![]() Great option for the entry level overclocker and great stable everyday board. |

Nice UC, not bad but you sure it's NB is 95C as that's crazy! How about if fan over NB how much does NB temps drop ? The screenshots too small to view, might want to use irfanview and tips at [Guide] Freeware Irfanview Graphics app resizing screen shots |

Man you could cauterise a wound on the NB it is very hot it WILL burn u i touched it .... ouch, With a fan over the the North bridge i dropped temps 10 degrees but still too hot for my liking also u can take into account the danger den waterbox can also be known as the HEAT BOX, i have modified the case for more airflow but still not very good. Compared to the classified with the same overclock my NB temps in this case were 70 derees so i still feel the NB cooler could be better.

I had one for about 2 weeks before it died, would clock like crazy up to that point. had my 920 at 4.7 with ht on and on air, went to reboot one time and would never make bios post. back to my asus board and all is good, but the p6t deluxe will only do a 215 bclk the evga le would do 222. tried to contact evga and a month later still no email back to me, I have already taken it back and exchanged for an asus p6t. Sad that i cant support evga cause i loved the board.
