E8600 E0 stepping cpus landed in Australia around 5 weeks ago, but I waited around 3 weeks before I decided to try them out.

Rex at http://pcmaniacs.com.au still has E8600 with Q820A599 batches so thought I'd go a bit crazy

All 5x E8600 are Q820A599 SLB9L 07/15/2008

    Different board tested and way better max clocks on DFI UT X48-T3RS than on Gigabyte EP45 Extreme which had much better H20 cooling - Dtek Fuzion + HE120.3 compared to on DFI with just Corsair Nautilus 500 H20

    I flashed to 8/29 bios before installing my E8600 Q820A599 so lucky not to have any issues with setting vcore - so much so managed 4980Mhz at 1.55v bios set with Corsair Nautilus 500 H20 cooling for 3dmark05 http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=9904 !

    E8600 Q820A599 *0537
    @5003-5146Mhz

    Bumped up vcore to 1.575v bios which came in around 1.568-1.584v idle with 0.016v-0.032v droop. This allowed to me pull of 32M @5003Mhz, 1M @5075Mhz and CPUZ Validation @5186Mhz (but cvf file didn't work so 5146Mhz screenie).

    32M

    1M

    CPUZ Validation @DDR3-2058
    Probably limited a bit by FSB ceiling as well as cpu cooling

    3dmark2001 didn't want to complete at 4980-5000Mhz so had to drop down to 4950Mhz with HD3850CF @823/2000

    Further updates, this time with E8600 Q820A599 *0464 cpu. Again, I'm getting much higher 32M pi stability on a DFI board which has digital PWM.

    Check out http://i4memory.com/f80/dfi-lanparty...ng-tips-10937/ for full details.

    Here's the proof

    To think this E8600 Q820A599 *0464 only did max Super Pi 1M @4952Mhz and max validation @5079Mhz at 1.552v idle on Gigabyte EP45-Extreme with exact same cooling setup.

    Even better than my E8600 Q820A599 *0537 which did Super Pi 32M @5003Mhz at 1.568v idle with max CPUZ Validation @5146Mhz on DFI UT X48-T3RS DDR3 board.

    E8600 Q820A599 *0464
    • Max CPUZ Validation @5146Mhz at 1.600v idle / 1.568v load
    • Super Pi 32M @5093Mhz at 1.600v idle / 1.568v load
    • Super Pi 32M @5025Mhz at 1.552v idle / 1.520v load

    @5146Mhz
